Tri-chroma is a project where the artist walks through some of Atlanta’s rivers and creeks. Collecting the objects and artifacts that have been discarded by choice or mishaps. Later, the items are arranged on the creek in a still life that is balanced by the force of nature and anchored by their weight.
Using a photographic technique called trichromatic photography, the aim is to purposefully distort the image from its original colors as a way to show the new landscape. In addition to, the mismatched colors represent the passage of time as our presence in the environment creates a trail that is left behind for nature to claim back. The photo series represents both a cultural and an ecological viewpoint, as the objects that are found typically show the story of the area and its individuals, and also question the importance of the objects and wonder why they were left, trashed, or discarded.
